About the role:
Boston Scientific is looking to fill an EH&S Specialist role at our Quincy location. The position supports and reinforces the importance of Environment, Health & Safety through direct employee interactions, observations, and educational sessions. They will drive continuous improvement in Environment, Health & Safety performance, while assuring operational compliance to local, state, federal, and international regulations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Liaison to the front-line employees and leadership for all EH&S related matters.
  • Maintain current EH&S programs and new program development and implementation.
  • Works with all levels of the organization to identify and control potential environmental health and safety impacts on operations.
  • Performs day to day activities to maintain compliance with local, state, federal, and international regulations.
  • Pro-actively work to reduce workplace incident and injury frequency and severity rates.
  • Conduct and manage performance improvements of EH&S compliance audits, self-assessments, and inspections.
  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver EH&S related presentations and educational sessions.
  • Engaged in the ongoing development, compliance, and review of Environmental Management System (ISO14001), Energy Management System (ISO50001) & Safety Management System (ISO45001).
  • Strengthen the EH&S culture through cross-functional collaboration, communications, promotions, and educations including but not limited to EH&S procedures, industrial hygiene activities, safety surveys, site assessment reviews, revisions of local procedures, and serve as a core member of EH&S related committees.
  • Act as the facilities' Hazardous Materials/Waste Coordinator to include the disposition of hazardous, non-regulated, and biomedical waste streams, including maintaining professional contacts with approved waste vendors.


Minimum qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience leading or working on teams focused around EHS culture change, continuous improvement, or compliance.
  • Experience communicating & presenting to multiple levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional groups and manage EHS programs that impact the entire site.
  • Knowledge of injury/incident prevention programs (ergonomic, risk assessments, root cause analysis).
  • Ability to develop and lead educational exercises for groups of employees.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Engineering, Safety Management
  • EH&S Certification or Credentials
  • 2 years' EHS related experience
  • Knowledge of: ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO50001,
  • Bilingual/Multilingual (English/Chinese/Spanish) is a plus
